Condolences: Randy Jones

• RAMP has  learned that Randy Jones, longtime midday personality on Empire Broadcasting Country 95.3 KRTY/San Jose passed away unexpectedly Monday evening. Jones, who was 68, joined KRTY as a part-time/fill-in personality in October 1999 and was upped to full-time midday host in 2001.

The news was shared with RAMP by KRTY VP/GM Nate Deaton, who said, “Randy was the emcee for literally hundreds of Country shows at the Rodeo Club and Shoreline Amphitheatre over the past 20 years. He will be deeply missed by his Country Family. He leaves behind three daughters. Services are pending, but KRTY will host a celebration of life for his fans and listeners in January at Club Rodeo.”
