Fowler & The Bear Reach Milestones
• Cumulus Media has formally invited Blaine Fowler to stick around at Hot AC WDVD/Detroit, as the station’s morning personality and management ink a long-term contract extension. Fowler has done mornings on WDVD since 2003, and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future. Minutes after signing the paperwork, an elated Fowler commented, “I’m having the most fun I’ve ever had and I’m excited to continue to set the alarm and join Lauren Crocker each morning on the radio here in the Motor City!!”
Robby Bridges, Director of FM Programming for Cumulus Media Detroit, said: “Blaine and Lauren both are special talents and I’m thrilled they’ll make their magic on Detroit’s 96-3 WDVD for a long time to come.” The Blaine Fowler Morning Show is enjoyed weekdays from 5:30-9am on 96.3 WDVD-FM.
• Today marks the end of an era at Midwest Communications Country WNCY (Y100)/Green Bay-Appleton-Oshkosh, WI, as 17-year morning co-host Henry “The Bear” Goddard does his final show and begins his retirement, closing the book on a 40-year radio career.
Bear’s many friends and fans are cordially invited to see him off and wish him well as he does his last show from a joint called Rico’s in Freedom, WI. Bear’s co-host, MD Charli McKenzie will fly solo in mornings for now.
