Mudflap & Palmer Are Back!
• After a six-month hiatus, popular Florence, SC morning duo Mudflap and Palmer are back on the radio, this time on Community Broadcasters Country WWKT (99.3 The Cat)/Florence-Sumter, SC.
You may recall that back in May of this year, iHeartMedia rival WEGX (Eagle 92.9) made the decision to bring in the syndicated Bobby Bones Show, displacing Eagle PD Ed Palmer and his morning show partner, APD/MD Randy “Mudflap” Wilcox. They’ve been sidelined since then.
In a joint statement, the guys said, “It’s been a long six months, but we’re excited to be broadcasting someplace other than on social media now! We had interest from several companies, but our hearts have always been in the Carolinas, so we’re excited that Community Broadcasters contacted us about staying here in Florence, which was what we hoped and prayed would happen! Once again, the Pee Dee region has a local country morning show to wake up to!”
Wayne Mulling, South Carolina Regional Market Manager said, “Mudflap and Palmer were a staple in Florence/Sumter for over four years, we’re happy to give them a new home and to be part of the Community Broadcasters family. It was a no-brainer to fill our need on 99.3 The Cat.” Mudflap and Palmer replace the syndicated Big D & Bubba show.
