Steele A Done Deal At WDRQ/Detroit

• It’s official — RAMP has confirmed that Roxanne Steele has signed all of the appropriate paperwork and is now the permanent full-time co-host of Broadway In The Morning on Cumulus Country WDRQ (New Country 93.1)/Detroit alongside Bill “Broadway” Bertschinger. After all, possession is 9/10 of the law, and Steele has been filling the co-pilot’s seat on an interim basis since last November, following the departure of “Krissy T” Williamson.

David Corey, Director of FM Programming for Cumulus Detroit, told RAMP, “Roxanne is a superstar talent, and we are thrilled to have her on the air every day with Broadway, on a full-time basis.”

Steele joined WDRQ as a part-time talent in August 2018, following a two-year run in middays across the street at then Entercom Country WYCD. Her major market career includes 12 years with CBS Radio Chicago, doing afternoons on B96, and later, afternoons on sister WCFS (Fresh 105.9) until 2010, when she relocated to Detroit. After two years of part-time on Cumulus Hot AC WDVD, Steele was hired to do middays on former CBS Radio Top 40 WDZH (98-7 AMP Radio). She joined WYCD in Nov. 2015.

Along with her swell new morning gig, Steele will retain her position as a Format Specialist for Futuri’s Prep +. Your good wishes can be sent to her at onairroxanne@gmail.com.
