Detroit Gets Its own Breeze

• After a weekend of stunting with Christmas music as “The Rudolph Network,” Entercom Top 40 WDZH (98.7 AMP Radio) formally flipped to Soft AC as 98.7 The Breeze, promising to play “relaxing favorites at work with hits from artists like Elton John, Fleetwood Mac and Boyz II Men to Adele, Alicia Keys and Sara Bareilles.”

“We are excited to launch 987 The Breeze and to fill this void in the Motor City’s music scene,” said Debbie Kenyon, SVP/Market Manager, Entercom Detroit. “We know the station will become a must-listen to make your work day breeze by.” 987 The Breeze is celebrating its launch by playing… wait for it… 10,000 songs commercial-free.

• We are still awaiting formal confirmation on the employment status of PD Ian “Slacker” Richards and morning duo Chris Cruise and Julia Lepidi, who just started there on June 18.
