Chris Ryan Wakes Up In Memphis
• After an ambitious interplanetary search, Entercom Hot AC WMC-FM (FM100)/Memphis has found its new morning co-host — say hello to Chris Ryan, who joins Michelle Lewis on February 12.
Ryan (left) who will go by “Ryan Anderson” on-air, makes the major leap upward from the PD/morning show spot at Neuhoff Top 40 WSOY (Y103)/Decatur, IL, and upon arrival he will fill the sizeable shoes of market legend Ron Olson, who, after 34 years on FM100 recently transitioned across the hall to mornings on AC sister WRVR (104.5 The River).
Entercom Memphis Director Of Branding & Music Programming Chris Michaels said, “I’m a huge fan of Ryan’s passion and his creativity. Ryan is very talented and lives the format. I look forward to the entertainment value that Ryan and Michelle will bring to FM100 listeners.”
The move marks a homecoming of sorts for Ryan/Anderson, who spent his “Wonder Years” in Memphis. “FM100 is the reason I was interested in radio at such a young age,” Anderson said. “My passion for the brand is priceless and now here I am working for the station that inspired me! I couldn’t be more excited to be a part of the Entercom Memphis family and to work with Michelle Lewis and Chris Michaels to grow the FM100 morning show even more. Oh yeah… and eat lots of Memphis BBQ!”
