KUBE Squarely Back In Seattle
• iHeartMedia Seattle just announced, that after nearly two and half years away, the legendary KUBE 93.3, “Seattle’s No. 1 for Hip Hop,” is back! “An iconic brand has been missing in Seattle radio,” said Robert Dove, Region President for iHeartMedia Seattle. “KUBE is a name that’s been part of Seattle’s music conscience and lifestyle for over 20 years. Listeners have spoken how they’ve missed KUBE. Well Seattle… KUBE is back!”
It was back in January 2016 when iHeartMedia pulled off a complex four-station Seattle realignment, most notably transferring the longstanding KUBE 93.3 brand over to 104.9, the former home of Active Rock KKBW (104.9 The Brew) — a signal and strategy that targeted neighboring Tacoma instead of Seattle. At the same time, KUBE’s former 93.3 home flipped to Top 40 as KPWK (Power 93.3) — which has now disappeared as KUBE reclaims its old frequency.
The new KUBE 93.3 will be under the programming command of Mark Adams, PD of KYLD (WiLD 94.9) and KIOI (Star 101-3)/San Francisco and APD Eric Rosado. As we speak, the new KUBE 93.3 is rolling through 14,000 commercial-free songs in a row with a jock line-up that includes former Power 93.3 morning duo Carla Marie & Anthony in the wake-up spot, followed by Shay in middays, Eric Rosado driving you home and Bootleg Kev from 7-midnight.
“We heard you loud and clear, Seattle,” said Andrew Jeffries, EVP of Programming for iHeartMedia’s West Division. “Hip Hop and KUBE 93.3 are back, and we’re giving you 14,000 songs in a row — commercial free. This is how you welcome back a legend!”
