Majic’s Back In St. Louis

After three days of stunting with nothing but “Magic”-themed songs, iHeartMedia St. Louis has officially revived its longtime “Majic” Urban AC brand with Friday’s launch of Majic 103.7, “Today’s R&B and Throwbacks” on KMJM-HD2. [Ed. note: You may recall that the original “Majic” Urban AC brand had been around since 1979 and had resided on several frequencies, most recently on clustermate KMJM until November 2014, when it flipped from Majic 100.3 to Throwback Hip Hop — now Urban — as 100.3 The Beat].

“The Majic brand is no stranger to St. Louis and has been iconic in the market since 1979,” said A.J., SVP of Programming for iHeartMedia St. Louis. “With the launch of the new Majic 103.7, we are resurrecting over 35 years of enriching lives and serving the St. Louis community.” Derrick Martin, Region President for iHeartMedia St. Louis, commented, “The heritage of the Majic 103.7 radio brand is like no other and I’m honored to be a part of bringing it back to the St. Louis community. It’s also a privilege to welcome back Majic’s core group of fans and advertisers, and we look forward to engaging new ones as well.”

Majic 103.7 launched at the frequency-appropriate hour of 10:37am Friday and is currently powering through 10,000 songs in a row commercial-free from the biggest names in R&B like Mary J. Blige, Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Luther Vandross, Maxwell and Janet Jackson. A full programming line-up will be announced at a later date.
