Good Morning Twice, Mark Kaye!
• We want to send our best wishes to one of the hardest-working guys in radio — Mark Kaye, longtime morning personality on Cox Media Group’s heritage Top 40 WAPE/Jacksonville, who was just awarded his second daily radio show across the hall on News-Talk sibling WOKV (News 104.5). The cleverly named The Mark Kaye Show debuts today and runs from 11am-noon, cozily sandwiched between the syndicated stylings of Brian Kilmeade and Rush Limbaugh.
In a staff memo, Nick Figueredo, Director of Branding and Programming for WOKV said, “We are excited to welcome Mark Kaye to the WOKV program lineup! Mark isn’t a stranger to WOKV as he had his own weekend show, hosted 30+ hours during Hurricane Irma and has been the main fill-in on The Herman Cain Show throughout 2017. Now, Mark is taking his talents to WOKV on a daily basis with a one-hour show talking about the big local stories, news from Washington and what it all means to you!”
RAMP caught up with Kaye as he was practicing running back and forth across the hall between shows. He told us, “Any opportunity I have to talk more is always welcome. But I’m sincerely grateful to everyone at Cox, who, for whatever reason, felt this was a great idea. Also, a big shout-out to Herman Cain, who has been an incredible mentor and has taught me a great deal about talk radio. And tax reform… mostly tax reform.”
