Moving Day For WTOP

• On Saturday evening, America’s perennial highest revenue-generating radio station, Hubbard Radio’s mighty all-news WTOP/Washington, along with sister WFED-AM (Federal News Network) officially moved out of their longtime HQ on Idaho Avenue and into their brand new, state-of-the-art facility at 5425 Wisconsin Avenue NW, Washington, DC.

SVP/GM Joel Oxley was nice enough to forward us the email that he sent out to the staff shortly after the station went live from its palatial new facility. Aptly titled, “We are live from 5425!,” the message read, “Kyle Cooper opened the mic at 9:59pm on a new era in news for Hubbard DC by being the first person to broadcast live from our new studios in Friendship Heights at 5425 Wisconsin.”

Oxley continued, “I cannot begin to explain the tremendous amount of outstanding work that Dave Garner, Brian Oliger, Art Rose, John Spaulding, Dave KolesarRen Zheng, Albert Shimabukura and Zach Shore have put in to make our launch a resounding success. And special thanks to Mike Murrillo for doing such a great job on training our news staffs. A new era has truly arrived. Congrats and welcome to all!” [Special thanks to our former R&R colleague, Jeffrey Yorke]
