Reid Takes Mornings At WRVA/Richmond

• John Reid is the new morning host at Entercom’s WRVA (NewsRadio 1140)/Richmond. He succeeds Jimmy Barrett, who left in September after 16 years to become co-host of Houston’s Morning News on iHeartMedia News-Talk KTRH (Newsradio 740)/Houston. Reid joins WRVA from the Veterans Administration and SiriusXM’s “The Patriot.”

In introducing Reid, Zac Davis, SVP of Programming for Entercom Richmond said, “John is a Richmond-area native and has already developed a great connection with Richmond during his tenure at Channel 8, WRIC. We’re ecstatic to be able to secure someone of John’s stature and pedigree for WRVA.”

Reid commented, “It’s a full-circle for me to return home. Former host Tim Timberlake gave me my first on-air interview on the WRVA Morning Show when I was growing up back in 1986. I’m excited to become WRVA’s newest morning host, especially following Jimmy Barrett.”
