WFAN Hits The Big 3-3 This Weekend
• Entercom Sports-Talk monster WFAN (101.9FM/660AM)/New York celebrates its 33rd anniversary with a whole weekend of special programming, starting tomorrow, July 3 and running right through Sunday, July 5, featuring appearances from iconic current and former WFAN hosts, including Howie Rose, Steve Somers, Suzyn Waldman and a bunch of other big names. The most-listened-to Sports station in the country, and the radio home of the New York Yankees will commemorate its first broadcast on July 1, 1987 with surprise guests and “Best Of” highlight shows from previous years.

Al Dukes and Jerry Recco will light the fuse to kick off the anniversary celebration on Friday, July 3, taking over morning drive from 5-10am ET with their first-ever extended “Warm-Up Show” leading into the station’s regular weekday schedule. Longtime WFAN personality Richard Neer, who has been with the station since 1988, will start the weekend programming at 6am ET on Saturday, July 4 at. The schedule will also feature the “Best of Boomer and Carton,” the “Best of Mike and the Mad Dog,” original WFAN evening personality Howie Rose, now the New York Mets’ voice on sister station WCBS-880, station legend Steve Somers, and Bob Papa and Carl Banks, WFAN’s New York Giants broadcast team.
