KUBE About To Wake Up Seattle

• iHeartMedia Rhythmic KUBE 93.3/Seattle, which has been rolling jockless in morning drive since its relaunch, just lit the fuse to launch The Wake Up Show on Monday, October 1. The Wake Up Show brings together a dynamic line-up of personalities — Strawberry, Lizette Love, Jenna and DJ Supa Sam — who will help capture what hip-hop sounds like for Seattle.

Strawberry (second from right) makes the move to the Pacific Northwest after a decade with KMVQ (99.7 NOW!)/Francisco. From 2000-2005 Strawberry did nights at iHeartMedia’s KYLD (Wild 94.9)/San Francisco, later moving up to mornings for a year. From 2007-2009 he did mornings at the former KZON (101.5 JAMZ)/Phoenix before returning to the Bay Area.

Lizette Love (second from left) transfers to Seattle from the MD/midday spot at iHeartMedia Urban WUBT (101.1 The Beat)/Nashville. Earlier stops include KDON/Monterey, CA and WBTT (105.5 The Beat)/Ft. Myers, FL.

Jenna (right) will assume the dual role of on-air personality and Morning Show Producer; she also arrives from iHeartMedia San Francisco, where she most recently produced the Marcus & Sandy Morning Show for KIOI (Star 101.3) and was on-air at KMEL.

DJ Supa Sam (left) is a Seattle mix show legend and doubles his morning show duties as the official in-stadium DJ for the Seattle Seahawks.

“As a redhead from Northern California, it’s going to be nice not to have to worry about getting sunburnt for once,” said Strawberry. “As a hip-hop fan, I can’t believe someone is actually handing me the keys to this legendary station. This is truly an opportunity of a lifetime… now watch us work.” Lizette Love said, “It’s a dream come true to get the opportunity to be a part of an amazing team on a legendary station like KUBE. I’m super excited to join Strawberry, my new cool girl Jenna, and the wickedly talented Supa Sam to help wake this town up.”

“In the few months since the re-launch, Seattle listeners have responded passionately to the return of KUBE and we’re creating noise on-air, online, and on the streets,” said Mark Adams, PD of KUBE 93.3. “With the addition of these personalities to anchor our mornings, I’m confident The Wake Up Show is going to shake things up.”
