SAG-AFTRA OKs Wango Work

• As we predicted, SAG-AFTRA has settled any lingering differences with iHeartMedia and has officially rescinded the “Do Not Work Notice” for its members, allowing them to work on KIIS-FM‘s upcoming iHeartRadio Wango Tango 2019. The updated notice, which was posted to the SAG-AFTRA website on Friday, May 10, reads, simply, “SAG-AFTRA has rescinded its Do Not Work order for the New Media music special iHeartRadio Wango Tango 2019 and members are free to work on this production effective immediately.” The show is scheduled for Saturday, June 1 at Dignity Health Sports Park (formerly the Stub Hub Center) in Carson, CA.

Earlier this week the union had posted the “Do Not Work” order, instructed its members to “withhold any covered services for this production until further notice,” citing a possible violation of the union’s Global Rule One,” which states, in part, “No member shall render any services or make an agreement to perform services for any employer who has not executed a basic minimum agreement with the union, which is in full force and effect, in any jurisdiction in which there is a SAG-AFTRA national collective bargaining agreement in place.”

Members with any remaining questions are instructed to contact Tim Kuhl, Manager of Entertainment Contracts, at 323-549-6044 or Timothy.Kuhl@sagaftra.org.
