Tampa Bay Wakes Up With ‘THEjoeSHOW’
• iHeartMedia Top 40 WFLZ (93.3 FLZ)/Tampa Bay has found the successor to The Kane Show — and with the same number of syllables — THEjoeSHOW will take over morning drive, effective June 1.
Described as “an imperfect show for an imperfect generation,” THEjoeSHOW is hosted by three life-long friends — Joe Carballo, Ashley Nics and Producer Jed Shilling, who earn the transfer from WKQI (Channel 955)/Detroit, where Carballo (center) is currently APD/afternoon host; Ms. Nics (right) is a producer for Mojo in the Morning and does middays, and Shilling (left) works in the programming and digital department. The three also host the Heavily Anxious podcast.
“93.3 FLZ has a long history of incredible morning personalities,” said Tommy Chuck, SVP of Programming for iHeartMedia Tampa Bay. “I’m excited to announce the next great show that is poised to take over Tampa Bay. Joe, Ashley and Jed have done a great job preparing for this opportunity.”
Carballo, who traces his radio lineage to his father, Mojo, said, “Since I was a kid, I have dreamed of doing mornings with my best friends.
