Happy 25th Birthday, WTTS!
This summer marks the 25th anniversary of the Triple A format on Sarkes Tarzian’s WTTS/Indianapolis. To properly celebrate this remarkable quarter-century milestone, the station just kicked off a gala five-week programming feature called “25 Years In 25 Days.” As Director of Programming Brad Holtz explains, “The real celebration will happen on Friday, August 25, when Atlantic recording artists Portugal. The Man plays live at the WTTS 25th Anniversary Private Concert at HIFI in Indianapolis. This is an exclusive concert for 400 listeners and friends of the station.”
Yesterday RAMP caught up with Holtz, who told us, “WTTS is a very special place, and our team feels fortunate to be doing the type of radio we’re doing after all these years. Having Portugal. The Man star in our 25th Anniversary Private Concert is icing on the cake. We can’t wait to celebrate with the listeners, sponsors and members of the community who have made this 25-year journey possible.” WTTS also received some nice mainstream press coverage in this week’s Indianapolis Business Journal in a feature story called “Radio ‘rebel’ WTTS unlikely success story.”
