Cruz Cares — Now More Than Ever
• The Cruz Show, which holds down afternoon drive on iHeartMedia Urban KRRL (Real 92.3)/Los Angeles has launched a local hotline — 818-533-8092 — where people in need of services, supplies or assistance can connect with other people and businesses who are donating items and services in an effort to ease the growing lack of essentials resulting from the COVID-19 crisis and closures. So far the hotline has connected hundreds of people with basic essentials like hand sanitizer, toilet paper, medical supplies and even crisis counseling.
As featured on a Fox 11 Los Angeles news segment, Heroes Among Us, host J Cruz explains the show’s feature, “Cruz Cares,” which has a long track record of public service to greater Los Angeles and the surrounding communities, including their annual Holiday toy and cash drive, and has benefited Boys And Girls Clubs in the area for over five years, raising hundreds of thousands of dollars.
Executive Producer Jeff Garcia said, “The Cruz Show has recruited some amazing people for our on and off-air efforts, from doctors and therapists to comedians to lift spirits, we are using our airtime to inform, educate and uplift our listeners through this highly disruptive crisis.” Cruz added, “We invite all industries and service providers to participate in assistance to our community by contacting Cruz Cares at cares@ichoosecruz.com while encouraging our fellow broadcasters to join in the effort to help their communities until this crisis has passed.”
