‘Trick & Trina’ To Mornings On WEDR/Miami

• Rumors become reality at Cox Media Group Miami, as it was formally announced that national hip hop recording artists and TV celebrities Trick Daddy and Trina are taking over mornings on CMG Urban WEDR (99 JAMZ), beginning January 6, 2020. The duo broke the news this morning on Facebook. “Trick and Trina are legends in hip hop culture, and a staple in Miami,” said Jill Strada, Director of Operations, CMG Miami. “I’m excited to kick off the new decade with these two superstars taking their raw talent to the radio.” Ralph Renzi, VP/GM of CMG Miami, added, “We are excited to bring such incredibly talented and well-known Miami superstars to be live and local on 99 JAMZ!”

As natives of Miami’s Liberty City, Trick and Trina have been legends in the hip-hop world for the past two decades — Trick Daddy dropped his debut album,Based on a True Story in 1997 on Slip-N-Slide Records and followed up with Thugs Are Us (2001), Thug Holiday (2002), Thug Matrimony: Married to the Streets (2004) and Back By Thug Demand (2006). Trina’s music career took off after she appeared with Trick Daddy on “Nann” in 1998. She released her debut album Da Baddest B**** in 2000 and followed up with other projects like Diamond Princess(2002), Glamorest Life (2005), Still Da Baddest (2008), Amazin’ (2010) and her most recent album, The One (2019).

“We can’t wait to take over mornings on the radio station we grew up listening to!” says Trina. “Tune in,” Trick adds, “because mornings in Miami will never be the same!”

But wait! There’s more! It was simultaneously announced that WEDR’s No. 1 rated night show duo Radio Big Mack and DJ Nasty 305 are being promoted to morning drive as co-hosts and producers of the Trick & Trina Morning Show. Radio Big Mack (left) is a stand-up comedian who is also featured on MTV’s Wild ‘N Out, and Nasty 305 (right) is a fixture in many South Florida nightclubs and has toured with several national recording artists as their concert DJ. “It’s such a pleasure to promote Radio Big Mack and DJ Nasty 305 to this new prime time position,” said Strada, adding, “They definitely earned their stripes as premiere on-air talent and will be a huge part of the new morning show’s success!”

The Trick & Trina Morning Show starts Monday, January 6, 2020 and will air weekdays from 6-10am ET on 99 JAMZ. Perfectly timed to their radio debut, both artists will also featured on Season 3 of VH1’s realty TV show Love & Hip Hop Miami, which airs in January.
