Big Changes At WIAD/Washington

• Rumors are swirling that Entercom Hot AC WIAD (94-7 Fresh FM)/Washington is about to change format, as soon as tomorrow. Ahead of that action, RAMP has confirmed the exit of The Tommy Show, featuring (l-r): Jen Richer, host Tommy McFly and Kelly Collis. We also hear that MD/midday personality Dana McKay and evening talent Britt Waters have also been released.

McFly is a longtime DC radio veteran who joined WIAD to do afternoons in November 2010, crossing the street after four years in nights at Citadel-owned WRQX (Mix 107.3). McFly moved up to mornings in June 2011 and was joined by Richer, who crossed the street from her online news manager position at WMAL, and Collis, a radio newcomer who was known for her website CityShopGirl.com, named one of “Six Money Websites to Watch” by U.S. News & World Report several years ago.

Despite their altered employment status, McFly and crew continued to honor a prior commitment, as McFly tells RAMP, “Kelly, Jen and I were just wrapping up a school visit bringing Georgetown Cupcakes to teachers. We never want to let our Tommy Show Family down.”

The cast of The Tommy Show is repped by Paul Anderson of Workhouse Media, who tells RAMP, “The Tommy Show was voted ‘Best Radio Personality’ by the readers of Washingtonian Magazine. The show is deeply committed to D.C. and has no plans to leave, and will continue to be active in social media. Tommy will continue his duties as a frequent pop culture/lifestyle contributor for NBC4.” All inquiries about the show should be directed to Paul@WorkhouseMedia.com.
