Career Crossroads For Pat & AJ
• After a combined 35 years in the radio business, 12 years together as a morning team, 11 years married and too many states and stations to name, RAMP has learned that Pat and Jennifer “AJ” Clark, hosts of Pat and AJ in the Morning are capping off their terrestrial broadcast career after their morning show position at Townsquare Media AC WCRZ (Cars 108)/Flint, MI was eliminated on Monday.
However, as the saying goes, when one door closes, another opens — what may come as a surprise is that Pat is only a few weeks away from completing a graduate program at Fordham University to become a Clinical Therapist. He made the choice to start the transition in 2019 after the duo won an award for Media Organization of the Year from the National Alliance on Mental Illness in Michigan. Pat remarked, “As my career evolved, I saw that I found more joy in the community work that we were doing for the station than the actual radio itself, so I decided to follow that road.”
For her part, AJ will now turn her focus to digital media content creation — she received Townsquare Media’s Presidents Club award for Contributor of the Year multiple times and is looking forward to concentrating on the Pat and AJ digital platform, which will be launching in 2021 and distributing various forms of entertainment.
Prior to joining Cars 108 in August 2014, Pat & AJ spent four years at NRG Media Country WYTE (Y106.5)/Wausau-Stevens Point, WI. They previously plied their wares at Midwest Family Top 40 WIZM/La Crosse, WI, and as solo artists, Pat and/or AJ have been associated with stations like WXSS/Milwaukee, KQMV/Seattle, WKSZ/Appleton-Green Bay, WI and WNDV/South Bend, IN, to name a few.
