COVID Cuts @ Connoisseur CT

• RAMP has confirmed several COVID-19-related personnel cuts at Connoisseur Media Connecticut — let’s start at News-Talk WICC 600/Bridgeport, where morning co-host Tony Reno exits after 13 years. His former co-host Melissa Sheketoff is now rolling solo and the show has been rebranded as Melissa in the Morning.

And heritage Classic Rock sister WPLR/New Haven has parted company with longtime station fixture John “The Wigmaster” Griffin, who had been with PLR on and off for nearly four decades. During his lengthy tenure Griffin had served in numerous roles, from Program Director, Production Director and midday personality. Most recently he was hosting “Wiggy’s Lunch,” weekdays from noon-1pm.

We understand that Phil Antonelli, who has been doing 10am-noon on WPLR, will now extend his shift and cover the noon hour moving forward.
