Jodi Vale: New York Free Agent
• After a 20-year run in middays and afternoons at Connoisseur Media AC WKJY (K98.3)/Long Island, Jodi Vale has left the station to pursue new opportunities.
Ms. Vale has been a valued member of the Long Island and New York City radio community for over 25 years, with stops prior stops at WBAB, WDRE, WDBZ (The Buzz) and the former Big 105/New York. She was hired at WKJY (then K-Joy 98.3) as MD/midday personality in October 1999 under previous owner Barnstable Broadcasting and was upped to afternoons two years ago.
Vale commented, “I would like to thank management, my amazing co-workers at CMLI and all my record label reps for an incredible ride these past 20 years at K. It is not very common to be able to settle down, buy a house, start a family and find stability in this industry for over two decades. I feel extremely lucky and grateful to my General Managers, including Dave Widmer and Jim Condron, OM Patrick Shea and PDs Bill Edwards, Steve Harper and Jon Daniels. I’m also proud of my work that helped earn solid ratings, especially for middays and afternoon drive on KJOY and K98.3/Long Island. As a native New Yorker and Long Island mom, it was easy to be relatable to our listeners and I appreciate our loyal following.”
Vale continued, “As I finish up my Master’s degree in Communications with an emphasis in education, I look forward to teaching future broadcasters in the academic setting. However, radio is my first love and I am absolutely not hanging up my beloved headphones!”
Vale is an active member of SAG-AFTRA and is available for full-or part-time on-air work in New York City, Long Island and the metro area. She is also interested in voice-tracking and voiceover opportunities and can be reached at 631-974-0630 or jodivaleradio@gmail.com.
