Paul Jaxon Downsized At WMMR/Philly

• The Beasley cuts continue – the latest major market downsizing has hit Paul Jaxon, afternoon talent at WMMR/Philadelphia for nearly 18+ years.

In a Facebook post, Jaxon said, “Almost two decades behind an MMR microphone. To say I’m going to miss it, would be a massive understatement,” Jaxon posted to Facebook. “Got caught up in corporate cuts. Just part of the biz and the economy. More than anything, I will miss my listeners and my WMMR family. I love them all like brothers and sisters.” He added, “I’m not going anywhere. 10 years ago, I may have been off to Chicago or NYC for another opportunity. Times have changed. Philadelphia is my home and I still love MMR with all of my heart. I’ll share more when the dust settles. Until then… Peace, Love and Margaritas.”

In a follow-up post, Jaxon added, “I’ll miss talking shit and making horrible jokes every afternoon. Best fans ever! Best city in the world! Warts and all! Philly forever!” Jaxon joined WMMR in 2004, following stints at WHJY/Providence and the late WFNX/Boston. CrossingBroad.com has more details about Beasley’s Philly cuts.
