• Late last week we reported that Beasley Classic Hip Hop WMGC (105.1 The Bounce)/Detroit had laid off morning show co-host “Mean Jean” Fremont; on Thursday, Fremont’s now former co-host Shannon Renee (pictured here with Fremont), announced via Instagram that she was done, and had made the “very difficult decision” to step away.

Renee’s post reads, in part, “Jean was eliminated last week, which would put me in the position to have to navigate what would technically be a 5th morning show for me on the station, & that in & of itself is just a lot. Never in a million years did I have winning a contest nearly 4 years ago to be on-air on my bingo card, but I am so incredibly grateful for the opportunity to have had that platform to spread awareness for breast cancer, my amazing interactions with our awesome listeners, & for all the fun memories along the way. I look forward to continuing my business and am also open to other opportunities as well.”

Renee joined The Bounce in May 2021 as the winner of the “Bounce Big Break” contest, and her earlier Motor City radio stops included WDRQ & WDVD, and Clear Channel/iHeart Detroit.
