• Mid-West Family Broadcasting in Springfield, IL is still seeking an Operations Manager to oversee and enhance News-Talk WMAY-AM/FM and Mainstream Rock WQLZ. GM Harvey Wells is looking for a Talk/Rock expert to work for employee-owned Mid-West Family, which was just named as one of the best places to work in Springfield, IL. Wells said, “I’m looking for an Operations Manager who understands that passion for radio will get you to the door, but being my partner in working our plan will break it open.”
YOU are a programming pro with at least five years of multi-format experience, with Talk being one of them. You are an “adult” who not only collaborates on strategy, but will also implement the plan. You understand that great radio is grown up from the streets of the communities that we serve and not down from a regional manager. You know how to work with air talent and salespeople to bring out their best — on the air and on the street. You are one of those people who not only gets angry when you see someone else’s call letters on a promotion, but you get mad at yourself for not thinking of it.
The Rest — You love to coach and develop talent; You can do a Rock airshift and also deliver news; You understand that a digital plan is not a banner ad and a station stream; You realize that a remote appearance is the exact opposite of being remote from listeners; You know how to make Selector sing; and you have the instincts to do it your way and not wait for a corporate mandate.
If this sounds too good to be true… it’s not. Do you want to talk in strict confidence? Send an e-mail, resume and salary requirements to Harvey Wells at hwells@mwfbmedia.com. What’s sent to Springfield stays in Springfield. Mid-West Family Broadcasting is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
