Winton Named SVP, Creative Services @ Warner/Chappell

Warner/Chappell Music (WCM), the music-publishing arm of Warner Music Group, announced the appointment of Ashley Winton as Senior Vice President of Creative Services.

The New York-based Winton (pictured) reports to the company’s co-Chair & COO Carianne Marshall and will work alongside Rich Robinson, EVP of Sync and Creative Services to create and find new opportunities to serve songwriters at every stage of their careers. Winton will also oversee the Warner/Chappell Production Music division, which focuses on creating music compositions for countless well-known TV shows, films and media companies. Marshall remarked, “Ashley’s fresh perspective coupled with her talent for building dynamic and creative teams will be invaluable in helping us develop new strategies to enhance our songwriters’ careers.”

Winton most recently served as Vice President of Music for National Geographic Partners, where she helped create a sonic identity and music strategy for the recently rebranded company. Winton previously spent a year working in Creative Licensing at SONGS Publishing. Prior to that, she established and oversaw the music department for TV production company, Shine America, formally known as Reveille Studios. Winton commented, “I’m excited to explore cutting-edge ways to serve WCM’s global songwriting community as well as support our production music business.”

Under Winton’s direction, Warner/Chappell Production Music will be run by the newly appointed team of Alec Sharpe as VP of Business Development & Operations and Pat Weaver as Head of Production.
