ADA Ups McGilvray To SVP/Promotion
• Alternative Distribution Alliance (ADA) Worldwide, Warner Music Group’s independent distribution and services arm, announces the elevation of David McGilvray to Senior Vice President, Radio Promotion. McGilvray joined ADA in 2015 after a 17-year run at Island Def Jam. He began his career at Bon Jovi Management and Mercury Records.
“David has a demonstrated record of strategic successes,” said Kenny Weagly, ADA President, A&R and Label Services. “I’m excited to announce his well-deserved promotion and highlight the passion, experience, dedication, and perseverance that he brings to ADA on behalf of our artist and label partners, both in his core field of radio promotion, and beyond it.” McGilvray commented, “I’m grateful to Eliah [Seton], [President, ADA Worldwide] and Kenny for the incredible opportunity to create a talented team of radio promotion professionals and execute the forward-thinking vision for ADA’s radio efforts.”
Concurrent with the announcement of McGilvray’s upgrade, ADA announced the addition of three industry vets to his team — Alisa Applegate joins as Vice President, West Coast Promotion; Rick Betemit is the new Director, Urban Promotion and Mary Taggart joins as Regional Promotion Manager. Existing Sr. Director of Promotion Tommy Delaney will continue to specialize on Alternative, Rock and Triple A radio efforts.
Applegate comes off of an eight-year run as Republic Records’ Sr. Director, Rhythm Radio; Betemit spent the first 13 years of his career at Atlantic Records, rising to Northeast Regional Urban rep and most recently held the same title at Empire Records. Taggart comes to ADA after marketing roles at Honeymoon Records and, most recently, 300 Entertainment. [Photo by Austin Paragas]
