Alan White Tribute Concert
• On Sunday, October 2, members of YES and WHITE, along with numerous other rock legends will convene at Seattle’s Paramount Theater to celebrate the musical life of Rock & Roll Hall of Fame drummer, Alan White, who passed away at his Seattle area home on May 26 at the age of 72. While White is probably best known as the longtime drummer of YES, he also famously played drums on the John Lennon singles, “Instant Karma!” and “Imagine,” along with many other classics.
The bands will be joined by some very special musical guests and play selections from White’s seven-decade career, including music from John Lennon and George Harrison, YES, and more. The event will be hosted by Alan’s longtime friend, Seattle radio legend Bob Rivers, and proceeds from the show will benefit WhyHunger, a leading anti-hunger nonprofit organization that Alan supported through his life.
Musicians inked to participate so far include current and former members of YES: Geoff Downes, Jon Davidson, Billy Sherwood, Jay Schellen, and Trevor Rabin; WHITE: Steve Boyce, Karl Haug, Jonathan Sindleman, and Robyn Dawn. Special guests (so far) include Matt Cameron (Pearl Jam); Spike Edney(Queen); Michael Shrieve (Santana); Roger Fisher, Steve Fossen and Mike Deroiser (Heart); Jeff Scott-Soto (Journey, TSO); Fernando Perdomo (Appice Perdomo Project); WANZ (Macklemore, Ryan Lewis); Bernt Bodal (White Sox); Mark Hudson (Aerosmith, Ringo Starr); Ryan Rabin (Grouplove); Caspian Coberly, with more exciting guests TBA before Oct. 2. Tickets start at a ridiculously reasonable $39.00 and can be purchased at stgpresents.org. [Special thanks to our RAMP brother Rob Barnett].
