Allen Brown Goin’ Fishin’

• We want to take this opportunity to send our very best wishes to Allen Brown, SVP, Media and Corporate Communications for Sony Music Nashville, who announced his impending retirement, effective June 30, wrapping up a successful 43-year music industry career. Brown (left) made his big announcement in a Thursday missive that reads, in part, “Last evening, I had the opportunity to share this news with my Sony Music Nashville family at a dinner in the rotunda of the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. It was a full-circle moment for me since I was a Hall of Fame tour guide and also a Belmont intern for CBS Records Nashville (later renamed Sony Music Nashville) when I was 21.”

Brown continued, “I worked for CBS Records and Sony Music Nashville or directly with artists who were signed to these label groups for over 38 years. In fact, I have had the pleasure of working with 18 of the artists inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame. But as I said to my label family, the superstars in the rotunda I am most proud of working alongside of are my fellow team members.”

In closing, Brown said, “I could spend all my remaining time after retirement thanking everyone who has helped, encouraged, mentored and been there for me these past several years! I am so blessed to have worked with and known you!” Until June 30, you can send your best wishes to Allen at allen.brown@sonymusic.com. [Photo: Alan Poizner]
