Announcing The Arrival Of Leo33
• Leo33, an independent record label based in Nashville, officially launched this week, co-headed by industry veterans Rachel Fontenot (Marketing and Operations) and Katie Dean (Promotion and Artist Development). The label’s initial core team also includes A&R pros Daniel Lee and Natalie Osborne.
“As the industry evolves, so does the role of the label,” says Dean, who spent the past 18 years at UMG, the last seven as SVP of Promotion at MCA Nashville. “We’re trying to build a model for the future — an entrepreneurial approach that combines the resources of a major with the agility and focus of an independent.”
Fontenot, who most recently served as VP of Marketing & Artist Development at UMG Nashville, commented, “The members of this team have experienced so many different facets of this industry — each has a unique perspective and passion.” Indeed, Daniel Lee has served as Creative Director for Ten Ten Music Group, VP of Creative for BMG, did A&R at Warner Records LA and served as President of independent label and publishing firm Altadena. Natalie Osborne was most recently Sr. Creative Director at Downtown Music Publishing
Alongside their in-house A&R, marketing and promotion team, Leo33’s approach will also utilize a unique opportunity for innovative partnership.
