Astralwerks Gets A New Head

Toby Andrews has been named General Manager of Astralwerks, one of music’s premiere dance and electronic labels for more than 25 years. In this new position, Andrews will be charged with renewing the label’s historic strengths in the dance and electronic music genres and will bring an independent and international focus to the company, which is moving from New York to the Capitol Tower in Hollywood. At the same time, Andrews will relocate from London to the Capitol Tower, effective May 21.

Andrews will report to Capitol Music Group (CMG) COO Michelle Jubelirer, who commented, “Toby is the ideal executive to lead Astralwerks in the years ahead. He is widely admired and respected throughout the industry, particularly in the Dance and Electronic space, and is known for his abilities in artist development and for cultivating strong relationships with creators and other talent to achieve success. All of us at CMG welcome him to the Tower and congratulate him on his appointment.”

Andrews most recently served as General Manager of International Marketing for Sony Music International, based in London. Before that, he ran the London office of public relations firm Get In. Weighing in on his new role, Andrews remarked, “I’m honored to have been given the opportunity to continue the legacy of a label I’ve admired for years. The recorded music space for electronic artists has changed so much in the past few years and I’m excited to bring a truly artist-first, international approach to Astralwerks. Thanks to Steve Barnett, Michelle Jubelirer and Geoff Harris for their support and belief in a bold new era for the label.”
