Atwood’s Next Chapter: Helping Others
• After more than three decades in the music industry, the past 26 years with Sony Music Entertainment, Caryl Atwood, former SVP of Commercial Partnerships, is embarking on a new professional chapter dedicated to supporting others. Having recently earned a second Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Memphis, Atwood’s long-term vision is to serve individuals through clinical mental health counseling and life coaching.
“If there’s one thing my career has taught me, it’s that success has always been about people,” Atwood said. “Whether I was building partnerships, leading teams, or supporting artists, the most rewarding moments came from helping others grow. As I begin this next chapter, I’m grateful for everything the music industry has given me, and I’m excited to dedicate the next season of my life to helping people navigate challenges, strengthen relationships, and discover what’s possible for their lives.”
Atwood began her career with Island Records and PolyGram Distribution in 1994. In 1999, she joined the RCA Label Group, where she spent the next 26 years rising through the organization from Coordinator to Senior Vice President across RCA Label Group, Sony Music Nashville, and Sony Music Entertainment.
Atwood has been honored as a 2014 MusicRow Rising Women on the Row honoree, a 2017 Nashville Business Journal Women in Music City honoree, recognized on the 2021 Variety Hitmakers list, and named to the Billboard Women in Music lists in both 2023 and 2024.
