Bolden Upped To SVP/A&R @ WBR
• Warner Bros. Records further strengthens the scope of its industry-leading A&R Department, with the promotion of Eesean Bolden to Senior Vice President, A&R.
The announcement was made today by Aaron Bay-Schuck, Co-Chairman & CEO, Warner Bros. Records, who said, “Eesean has done an incredible job of developing an artist roster of budding global superstars and he’s truly earned this promotion. He is the first of many exciting moves as we build our A&R team into the very best and most creative force in the industry. Our commitment to artists will be stronger than ever.”
Bolden has served as Vice President, A&R at Warner Bros. Records since September 2016. Among the major artists he has signed to the label are hip-hop stars Lil Pump (“Gucci Gang,” “Esskeetit,” “I Love It” w/ Kanye West) via a deal with Tha Lights Global; YFN Lucci (“Everyday We Lit”) via a deal with Think it’s a Game; and buzzing viral sensation Saweetie (“ICY GRL”). Bolden’s most recent signings include the duo Armon & Trey and Phora. Prior to his arrival at Warner Bros. Records, Bolden spent a year at Epic Records in Los Angeles. He began his major label career at Capitol Records, where he signed multi-platinum breakout rapper Silentó (“Watch Me [Whip/Nae Nae]”) and successful singer/songwriter Mary Lambert.
Commenting on his newly enhanced position at WBR, Bolden remarked, “Since arriving at Warner Bros. Records two years ago, it has been my mission to sign, develop and break a diverse group of exceptional, culturally relevant artists in the urban space. This label has long been known as an artist-driven company, and that feels even more true today. I want to thank Max Lousada, Aaron Bay-Schuck, Tom Corson and the fantastic WBR team for their support of our artists and their music. I feel incredibly excited for the future and I look forward to delivering more hits!”
