Borchetta’s New Venture Comes Into Focus

• On the heels of last week’s announcement of Scott Borchetta‘s departure as Chair & CEO of Big Machine Label Group from parent company HYBE America and his intention to reclaim the Big Machine Records brand for his future ventures, comes word that many of his longtime colleagues — including his wife, EVP of CreativeSandi Spika Borchetta — will be transitioning with him over to his new company.

As initially reported by Country Aircheck, that includes the staff and artist roster of Nashville Harbor Records & Entertainment — Pres. & CEO Jimmy Harnen and SVP of Promotion Ryan Dokke, as well as Nat’l Director of Promotion & Marketing Brooke Diaz, Director of Promotion & Marketing/Midwest Jane Staszak, Director of Streaming Andi Brooks, SVP of A&R Julian Raymond, VP of Design & Branding Justin Ford, and Scott Borchetta’s assistant, Madison Larson.

The new Big Machine artist roster includes Tim McGraw, Rascal Flatts, Lady A, Aaron Lewis, Mackenzie Carpenter, Jack Wharff Band, and Cole Goodwin. The Nashville Harbor roster includes Riley Green, The Band Perry, Caroline Jones, Greylan James, and Shaylen. Both imprints will continue to be distributed through HYBE America and will be worked by one “super-sized” promotion team, according to Borchetta.

And there’s more: The Valory Music Co., which launched in 2007, is being shuttered. Valory President George Briner announced his retirement last week.

With all this movement comes the inevitable news of employee departures — as of now, those exiting include Big Machine VP/Promotion & Marketing Erik Powell (erikpowell37@gmail.com); Valory VP of Promotion & Marketing Chris Palmer (chris.palmer1@comcast.net); and Big Machine Sr. Director/West Coast Promotion & National Strategy Bill Lubitz (billlubitz@gmail.com).
