Bright Future At Capitol Nashville

Katie Bright has officially made her return to records from radio, as she joins Capitol Nashville as Director of Regional Promotion, Midwest, based in Chicago. She succeeds Brent Jones, who left the label last month after a 25-year run.

When formally welcoming Bright aboard, Capitol Nashville VP of Promotion Bobby Young said, “I could not be more thrilled about Katie’s decision to join us as the newest member of the Capitol Nashville promotion team as Director, Regional Promotion, Midwest. To recruit someone with Katie’s credentials and experience ‘just when you need it’ is unusual. She brings hands-on experience and a vast knowledge of the evolving radio, media and recording businesses. I’m confident Katie is the perfect addition to the Capitol Nashville All-Star promotion staff.”

Bright most recently co-hosted the Jason & Katie morning show with Jason Pullman on Entercom Country WUSN (US99)/Chicago until last month. Before that she spent seven years with Warner Music Nashville, rising to Nat’l Director of Radio & Streaming Promotion. Bright had earlier worked in sales at US99. Her radio career began at WAXX/Eau Claire, WI and later, she was a cast member of the former House Foundation at WSIX/Nashville, helmed by the legendary Jerry House.

Bright exclaimed, “It’s so good to be back! I’ve deeply missed the relationships, the music, the hustle, the teamwork, the highs (and lows). Joining [UMG Nashville EVP of Promotion] Royce Risser, Bobby and the extraordinary team of regionals at Capitol feels like I’ve hit the Mega Jackpot! I’m proud to join the UMG Nashville family. Bright is already on the job and can now be reached at 615-788-2203 or katie.bright@umusic.com.
