Bruce Reiner Needs Our Help!

We were shocked to learn yesterday that promo pro Bruce Reiner, a longtime friend to many of us in the industry is facing a serious medical challenge — a brain tumor. Unbelievably, the tumor was only discovered because Reiner, who lives in Las Vegas and works with Dolly Parton, among others, suffered a serious head injury last month that rendered him unconscious. His friend Mike Bergin of Satisfaction Entertainment picks up the story, as he relates, “After getting X-rays the doctors discovered a growing tumor in his skull and attached to his brain. The tumor is growing and starting to impair his vision as it needs to be extracted ASAP.” He added, “The silver lining is that the accident afforded Bruce an advance heads-up to his illness and he’s going to have surgery at the end of the month — the bad news is that Bruce’s insurance will cover less than 50% of the cost and it is going to be expensive.”

To that end, Bergin has launched a GoFundMe page with the goal of covering the remaining 50-60% of Bruce’s surgery costs, monthly living expenses and possible home care nursing during what is expected to be a 6-to-12-month recovery period.

Bergin adds, “On a personal note I want everyone to understand that I had to beg, plead and fight with Bruce for permission to do a GoFundMe page. That in itself is ironic, because he is the first to help others when they are in need. Bruce is one of the most generous, giving, thoughtful and compassionate persons I have ever known. Let’s get this done so Bruce will have one less thing to worry about during this time.” We couldn’t agree more!
