For Maddie Poppe, Life Is A Whirlwind

On Sunday night, Laine Hardy was declared the Season 17 winner of American Idol. Last Thursday evening, the focus was on your 2018 winner, Maddie Poppe, as her fans awaited the release of Whirlwind, Poppe’s highly anticipated Hollywood Records’ debut album. As the clock ticked down to the late Thursday evening release, Poppe performed an exclusive pre-album release show for her fans at L.A’s insanely popular shopping destination/celebrity-sighting hotspot The Grove. The event was hosted by the talented, charming and dashingly handsome Morgan Tompkins of Radio Disney (who happens to be Kevin Carter‘s son).

After a well received opening set by Idol runner-up (and Poppe’s boyfriend) Caleb Lee Hutchinson, Poppe, backed by a full band, took the stage for a 45-minute set that included all ten tracks from Whirlwind, including her infectious new single, “Made You Miss,” which was co-written with Ross Golan and Johan Carlson. FYI: Whirlwind quickly shot to Top 15 overall and No. 2 Pop!
