Jay Cruze Joins Big Machine Records

Big Machine Label Group, a subsidiary of HYBE America, announced the hire of radio and records veteran Jay Cruze as Director, Southeast Promotion & Marketing for Big Machine Records, with a roster that includes Tim McGraw, Carly Pearce, Midland, Jackson Dean, Danielle Bradbery, The Cadillac Three and more. The Nashville-based Cruze succeeds Jeff Davis following his retirement last year.

Cruze most recently served as Country PD for iHeartMedia’s National Programming group. He also brings radio and record promotion expertise from his time with Average Joe’s Entertainment and Bigger Picture Group.

“Through all of our combined experiences and meeting executives across our industry, I always take note of those certain execs that just seem to have that extra spark and that extra degree of passion,” said BMLG Chairman & CEO Scott Borchetta. “Jay has always been one of those for me and I’m thrilled to have him join the Machine!”

Clay Hunnicutt, GM of Big Machine Records, stated, “Jay is an incredible addition to Big Machine. He is cut from the same cloth as our key team leaders and has great passion for Country music, Country Radio, and most importantly, our artists and their music.” Kris Lamb, Big Machine Records’ SVP of Promotion & Digital, adds, “The only way to replace a legend like Jeff Davis is to sign a superstar like Jay Cruze. Jay’s rich history in promotion and his extensive high-level experience in radio make him the perfect addition to our award-winning Big Machine Records promo squad.”

Cruze said, “Jeff Davis left some big shoes to fill, but I’m beyond excited to get out and see old friends and make new ones in the Southeast. I’m still pinching myself that I get to work with such a talented group of people and artists at the house Scott Borchetta built. This isn’t a joke, right? I can’t believe I actually get to work here.” Cruze can be congratulated at Jay.Cruze@bmlg.net.
