Julian Lennon Signs With BMG

Julian Lennon has signed a new global recordings agreement with BMG, and a new album is set to be released later this year. Lennon’s new music arrives on the heels of his first-ever NFT drop, “Lennon Connection,” featuring digital art pieces created from his personal and physical memorabilia collection, including Paul McCartney‘s handwritten notes for “Hey Jude,” which was originally written for Julian.

Lennon’s music career exploded in the ’80s with his debut single, “Too Late For Goodbyes,” which hit No. 1 on Billboard’s AC chart. His debut album, Valotte, was certified Platinum in the U.S. and was followed by a No. 1 U.S. Rock single,” Stick Around,” from 1986’s The Secret Value Of Daydreaming. Lennon’s most recent full-length albums include Photograph Smile released in 1998 and Everything Changes in 2011.

“After working on new music for the past few years, I am happy to have found the perfect partner in BMG, to help me bring this work to light,” said Lennon. BMG EVP Global Recordings Fred Casimir said, “Julian is a unique artist working across multiple art forms with a clear humanitarian and ecological perspective, which dates back decades. There is sometimes a long wait between Julian Lennon albums, but having heard this one, I’m convinced it was worth the wait.”

Lennon is widely known as a New York Times best-selling author, fine arts photographer, and global philanthropist. His latest children’s book, released in November 2021, was a graphic novel titled The Morning Tribe. [Photo credit: Robert Ascroft]
