Warner Music Group (WMG) announced the promotion of Alex Kamins to Vice President, Global Digital Business Development — Innovation & Emerging Technology. As a special bonus, Kamins will relocate from WMG’s New York headquarters to its office in sunny Los Angeles, where he will lead West Coast-based partnerships and drive new digital media and business diversification opportunities. Kamins will continue to bolster WMG’s strategic business efforts through partnerships, licensing deals, and investments focused on established and emerging digital platforms, new content opportunities, new technologies, and location-based entertainment.

Kamins still reports to Jeff Bronikowski, SVP, Global Digital Business Development — Head of Innovation & Emerging Technology, who said, “We’re always looking to establish partnerships with the most innovative tech companies and startups, and for the past several years Alex has played a critical role at WMG by keeping a pulse on what’s new and next in the industry. His ability to identify and create successful partnerships will be highly valuable to WMG as we solidify our business development team’s presence on the West Coast.”

Kamins most recently served as Sr. Director, Digital Strategy & Business Development, where he spearheaded various partnerships including the first major label license deals with Musical.ly and Melody VR as well as WMG’s membership in seed accelerator Techstars Music. He joined WMG in 2013 as an Associate Director in the Office of the CEO, having previously worked in the investment banking and investment management sectors.
