BMG yesterday issued a lengthy press release touting its “long-term growth plan” for its operations in Nashville and spoke of the progress on the construction on the new BMG office building “designed to bring all Nashville-based employees comprising its Nashville music publishing business, its Nashville operations hub and BBR Music Group — under one roof at One Music Circle South in early 2019.”

However, tucked away down near the end of the release it was revealed that “Red Bow Records — established in 2012 as a joint venture between BBR Music Group and Sony Music’s now-defunct RED Distribution — will now fold into BBR Music Group’s core three labels (Broken Bow Records, Wheelhouse Records, and Stoney Creek Records). All current promotional initiatives for Red Bow Records artists will be handled by Wheelhouse Records staff in the interim.”

We understand that announcements regarding the status of the current Red Bow staff will be announced this week.

• Yesterday we told you about some restructuring in the Promotions Department at Big Machine Records that resulted in the departure of James Marsh as Director of Southwest Promotion. Now comes word of the rest of the company’s promotion moves, starting with Alex Valentine, who segues from his current post as Director of Midwest Promotion and succeeds Marsh as Southwest rep, while Brooke Diaz shifts from Director of Northeast Promotion and assumes Valentine’s former Midwest spot. Finally, AJ Calvin transfers northward from Director of Southeast Promotion and replaces Brooke Diaz as Big Machine’s new Director of Northeast Promotion.

Elsewhere in the Big Machine Promotion department, the situation remains as it was before, with Specialist, Southeast Promotion Jeff Davis and Director of West Coast Promotion Bill Lubitz retaining their current roles, as does Director of National Promotion Erik Powell and Coordinator of Promotion Nicole Hunt.
