Remembering Eddie Rosenblatt
• Eddie Rosenblatt, revered as one of the most influential music executives of the modern era, best known for his successful two-decade run as President, and later, Chairman of Geffen & DGC Records, died Tuesday, July 16 in Santa Barbara at the age of 89.
Rosenblatt’s son Michael broke the news on social media, posting: “With a heavy heart I share the news of the passing of my dad. He was the head of the family and was the most loving and nurturing parent, husband, grandfather and great grandfather any one of us could have wished for. He was the most influential person in my life and made me the man that I am today. He touched so many lives and will be missed by everyone who knew him.”
In addition to Michael, Rosenblatt is survived by sons Steven and Peter, and daughter, Gretchen, as well as six grandchildren and one great grandchild. Bobbi, Rosenblatt’s wife of 68 years, passed away last year.
