Red Bull Records has promoted Kenny “Tick” Salcido to the newly created role of Senior Vice President of A&R, and appointed Charles “CB” Burks as Director of A&R. Salcido reports to Greg Hammer, Managing Director of Red Bull Records, who said, “Kenny has an inherent passion for music, coupled with the ability to identify and develop unique artistic voices. He’s an important part of the future of Red Bull Records and will continue to lead efforts in expanding our roster with amazing musicians.”

Since joining Red Bull Records in 2012, Salcido has signed breakout talent like The Aces and Beartooth and established musicians like Albert Hammond Jr. Over the past year, he’s been responsible for building a strong A&R/scouting department, which has ushered in recent signings like critically acclaimed songwriter August 08 and accomplished recording artist/songwriter Gavin Haley. Salcido said, “I’m excited to have the opportunity to lead A&R efforts into the future. I look forward to finding career artists and assisting those artists in making a true cultural impact in music. I admire the vision of Red Bull Records which is to truly support artistic creativity and originality in music.” Salcido previously worked in A&R at Warner Bros. Records and is responsible for signing Wiz Khalifa to his first major label deal. He began his career working at the Beastie Boys’ imprint Grand Royal Records.

Burks reports to Salcido and will assist in expanding the artist roster at Red Bull Records with a focus on the Urban-Rhythmic genre. Burks previously served as Director of A&R at UMG label 10:22PM. He began his career as an A&R intern at Atlantic Records and later moved to Epic Records. “I’m both grateful and excited for the opportunity to join the Red Bull Records team,” said Burks. “Under the leadership of Kenny, I’m eager to further the development of our talented artists and I look forward to identifying new musical talent as we continue to cultivate the urban side of our roster.” The guys are based at Red Bull Records’ Los Angeles HQ.
