Tom Rivers Award Deadline Friday!
• This Friday, Dec. 6, marks the deadline to submit nominations for the prestigious Tom Rivers Humanitarian Award, presented by the Country Radio Broadcasters (CRB).
The scholarship is awarded annually to an individual in the Country radio industry and who espouses the spirit and virtues of generosity, caring, and community service. The award is named in honor of Tom Rivers, a 17-year broadcast veteran and former CRB board member who died in 2004 at the age of 38. At the time of his death, Rivers was OM of WUSN (US99.5)/Chicago. His career also took him to WQYK/Tampa.
Previous recipients of this prestigious award include Tim Leary, Storme Warren, Heather Froglear, Lon Helton, “Dollar” Bill Lawson, Dan Halyburton, Peter Smyth, Jeff Smulyan, Mary Quass, and George G. Beasley. Nominations can be submitted by completing the form available HERE.
