VP Upgrade For Republic’s Vastola
• Republic Records has promoted Julie Vastola to Vice President, Visual Content. The New York-based Vastola most recently served as Director, Visual Content and notably spearheaded digital visual content creation for Ariana Grande, Lil Wayne, Kim Petras, Pop Smoke, Julia Michaels, Kid Cudi, Jonas Brothers, and more. She will continue to oversee the creation of visual content for artists, including lyric videos, social media videos, and other assets for talent across the Republic roster.
As part of her newly expanded VP role, Vastola now helps foster the creation of music videos and original content production alongside Devon Libran, Republic’s SVP of Visual Content and Production, who said, “Julie has been responsible for some of our most creative and impactful campaigns. As a curator, afficionado, and executive, her vision and aesthetic are unmatched. She consistently aligns our artists with equally talented creators who add another dimension to each and every release. It’s an honor to announce her promotion.”
Vastola remarked, “My main goal for this role is to understand our artists’ vision and help them develop that into an engaging visual. There’s been a shift in the industry where fans are experiencing music with their eyes as much as they are with their ears, so the emphasis on content is strong. Something like a Spotify canvas or social post can affect the way a fan experiences a song, that importance is not lost on me.”
Vastola joined Republic in 2015 as Digital Marketing Manager. Before that she spent seven years at SRP Music Group where she worked her way through the ranks to Project Manager. Vastola remains passionate about providing equal opportunities to BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ visual creatives and co-heads the Creative Committee of the Republic Records Action Committee (R2AC). She was notably included on Billboard‘s 2021 Pride List of Industry-Shaping LGBTQ Professionals, and she was part of the team that won the Silver Clio Award in 2019 for the Jonas Brothers’ Happiness Begins Campaign.
