Will The Grammys Be Postponed?

• That is the big question now, given the the 2025 Grammy Awards are just three weeks away, and with large swaths of the greater Los Angeles area absolutely decimated from the wildfires that continue to rage, and with so many local residents, many of them entertainment and music industry professionals, having lost their homes, many are now speculating whether or not the show will be postponed — or evolve into a largescale fundraising effort.

Sources confirm to Variety that although it’s too early to determine whether the Grammy’s will be postponed, it’s very likely that major elements of it will be focused on raising money for relief for both the city and its music-centric residents. The upper management of the Recording Academy and its longtime broadcast partner CBS are said to be considering multiple options, but no decision has been made yet.

The Recording Academy and MusiCares have already pledged $1 million to support music professionals impacted by the wildfires, launching the Los Angeles Fire Relief Effort which will provide both immediate relief and long-term support to individuals and families in the music industry facing displacement and loss due to the disaster.

Plans are also ongoing for a benefit concert in the days leading up to the Grammys’ scheduled Feb. 2 date that would involve MusiCares, sources tell Variety.
