• Thousands of up-and-coming performers were adversely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, what with closed music venues and shuttered restaurants stunting their efforts to make a name for themselves. For one such band, however, life is about to seriously change — say hello to Young In A Million, a modern rock duo out of Nashville, who were recently selected as the winners of Audacy’s month-long “Opening Act” promotion and on October 23 will literally be the “Opening Act” for Audacy’s eighth annual We Can Survive show at the world famous Hollywood Bowl, kicking off a star-studded lineup that includes Black Eyed Peas, Coldplay, Doja Cat, Maroon 5, Shawn Mendes, The Kid LAROI and more.

“Winning the Opening Act is the biggest dream that has come true for us yet,” said Young In A Million’s Kody Ternes and Alex Christopher Hayden. “It’s our greatest honor to be able to play our music that stands for dreaming, hope and living life to the fullest at such an awesome event that raises awareness for mental health and suicide prevention. We couldn’t have asked to be a part of a better competition and concert! Also, Coldplay is our biggest influence and favorite band of all time, so to open up for them is one of our wildest dreams! We’ve faced some really discouraging hardships in the past year and this opportunity has been an oasis in the desert for us.”

In partnership with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, We Can Survive continues Audacy’s commitment to normalizing the struggles of mental health.
