Budget Cuts Hit KZFM/Corpus Christi

• The new year brought unfortunate news to the halls of Malkan Interactive Communications in Corpus Christi, TX — specifically, KZFM (Hot Z95), the top rated heritage Rhythmic Top 40, which is lost most of its local on-air staff due to budget cuts within the company. OM/Director of Programming Gino Flores alerts us to the departure of morning show co-host Lauren Indridson, longtime afternoon talent and local club DJ legend, Chris Fonseca, and Jon Bell, a.k.a. Bigg Bell Da Kidd, who worked part-time/weekends and emceed many live events for the station.

Indridson (left) debuted just one year ago and became an instant fan favorite. She also appears as a sideline reporter on many NCAA Men’s basketball games via ESPN+ working for the Southland Conference. She can be reached at laurenindridson@gmail.com. Chris Fonseca (center) can be contacted at z95djchris@gmail.com, and you can find Jon Bell (right) at bbdk36100@yahoo.com.

Back at the ranch, Flores is now rolling solo as host of Gino’s Neighborhood from 6-10am; followed by the Skyview-syndicated Dana Cortez Show in middays. YEA Media Group’s Tino Cochino Radio, which has aired in nights on KZFM since 2017 moves up to afternoon drive, followed by the Premiere-syndicated Bootleg Kevfrom 6-10pm. Benztown’s Slow Jamz with R Dub! remains in place from 10pm-midnight.
