Chet Buchanan: Close Second To Santa
• We want to take a moment to salute one of the hardest working men in show business — especially during the month of December — Chet Buchanan, longtime host of The Chet Buchanan Show on Entercom Top 40 KLUC/Las Vegas, who on Monday returned to earth after spending 12 days aloft upon a 30-foot-high scaffold, braving the wind and weather yet again, all for the benefit of his yearly labor of love — the 20th annual Toy Drive that began on November 29 and ended on Monday, Dec. 10. We are thrilled to report this 2018 edition was another record setting year, including the first year they raised over $500,000 in cash and gift cards! There’s Chet pictured, surveying the veritable sea of donated bikes filling the parking lot of NV Energy.
As seen on the giant final tote board, the 12-day campaign filled (37) Coca-Cola semi-truck trailers with new toys, along with 8,757 bikes and $505,448 in cash and gift cards! That’s Chet on the left, and co-hosts Spence and Kayla.
The annual event benefits HELP of Southern Nevada, a nonprofit organization that assists less fortunate families during the holiday season. Starting now, they will be helping over 3,000 families along with over 80 other nonprofit organizations in southern Nevada to ensure that as many families as possible have gifts to unwrap this holiday season.
