Drive Sacramento Home On KNCI!

• Bonneville Country 105.1 KNCI/Sacramento has put out the galaxy-wide call for a new afternoon drive personality, as “Pacey Williams” Cervantes announced his departure after seven years for a new opportunity outside of the radio industry.

Cervantes (left) broke his news in a recent Facebook post: “Today is a very emotional day for me. A career which has spanned almost two decades is coming to an end. It’s very rare for people in radio to be able to leave on their own terms, I’m so happy I was able to do so. I am leaving radio in order to pursue something so big that my hands are shaking even typing this. It’s something I’ve been working on for almost a year now. November 5th will be the day I will be able to announce it. Now the work really begins…”

Prior to joining Bonneville Sacramento, Cervantes did mornings across the street on iHeart Rhythmic Hot AC KHYL (V101) until a round of May 2017 layoffs. Williams earlier produced the morning show on KMEL/San Francisco, and he began his radio career in San Diego working with the legendary Jeff & Jer Morning Show. Cervantes currently does mornings on Pride Radio and weekends on iHeart’s KIOI (Star 101.3)/San Francisco.

• That said, New Country 105.1 KNCI is looking for its next full-time Live PM Drive personality. The gig also includes a daily voice-tracked shift on another station within the cluster. First, a few routine questions: 1) Do you understand and embrace all that goes with doing a show in a PPM universe? 2) Do you understand need for real content in your show? 3) Are you submerged in country pop culture and everything that surrounds it? 4) Do you annoy people with how much you are on social media? 5) Do you understand how this audience lives their lives? 6) Are you someone who can embrace great charities/organizations and love being out in public to support them?
